The Annual Kansas Freedom Ride on Armed Forces Day

The 1st Kansas Freedom Ride

2010

We were one of dozens of states who participated in the 1st Annual Armed Forces Day Freedom Ride on May 15, 2010. The Ride spanned just over 100 miles in beautiful Southwest Kansas and attracted riders from over one hundred miles away. Beginning in Jetmore with stops in Spearville, Dodge City, Cimarron and back to Jetmore for a kick ass after-party where food, drinks, live music and prizes awaited the participants, the Ride/Poker Run awarded over $1750 in cash and prizes with the local ALR Chapter raising money for local veterans services.
2011
This year its about the Ride
, our Veterans and one veteran in particular, Sgt. Ryan Newell. All proceeds from the 2nd Kansas Freedom Ride will benefit Sgt. Newell and his family. If you don't know Sgt. Newell's story, a quick internet search will tell you he is an American Wounded Warrior who fought in Afghanistan, suffered the loss of both legs by IED assault and later made national headlines when he stood toe to toe with Westboro Church. Many would like to give WBC a taste of their own medicine, but this young man looked them square in the eye.

The Ride is not about Westboro it is about supporting all our Veterans by giving our money, our time and our respect. There is no one who deserves our support more than these young men and women who fight, many returning gravely injured, yet still stand solidly and proudly for what they believe in:

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND FREEDOM!!!
RIDING IN HONOR OF OUR VETERANS
